Julie + Matt, Palafox Wharf, Pensacola Florida Wedding
Ya see, I had never been sicker in my WHOLE life than I was on Julie + Matt's wedding day.
I felt so out of norm! My fever was high and my personality was low, and I hated that…but I love my job, so of course, I managed haha. But to be honest, every detail of this entire day was so beautiful, that it kept me chugging along the whole way through, so much so that I am eager as hell to share this insanely pretty day with yall!
It all started from the to-die-for Air BnB get-ready house, the ever-so-lovely Julie with her GORGEOUS dress, accompanied by her sweet friends, a REAL LIFE HORSE AND CARRIAGE, several MEN IN UNIFORM (HELLO!), a new and amazing venue, to some of the best vendors I have ever worked with…this day quickly became one of my favorites!!!
Every detail was well-thought out, the bride and bridesmaids looked like something out of a magazine and the groom could not have looked more pristine in his uniform; the day was set to be one of the best!
After a tearful first-look with dad, Cinderella had to get to her man! In a fairytale horse and carriage, this bride was arriving in style! Following the “Ring Security” team this smiley couple said their I-Do’s and sweet first kiss before their big shindig. The reception was a blast! With tear-jerking toasts to everybody on the dance floor, this night was one that won’t be soon forgotten!
--- So back to their story! I asked Julie how she and her hubby met -
How'd you two meet?
"On October 24, 2015, I met Matt in downtown Pensacola at a line dancing bar called "Wild Gregs". From our first interaction, I knew he was someone special. The following week, he treated me to V'Paul's Italian Restaurant for our first date. I'm not going to lie, we were both shy at first and made things a little awkward. It took a little more time to warm up to each other. That Christmas, we became each other's dates at our work Christmas parties. After meeting each other's friends, we become more comfortable with one another. So much so that Matt flew down to Orlando (after spending Christmas with his family in New York) to bring in the New 2016 Year with me. That following October, we moved in together. And on August 18, 2017 Matt proposed on the Palafox Pier during Gallery Night after a romantic dinner at Jackson's Steakhouse. Matt fooled me into believing it was a celebratory dinner for our success at becoming Airbnb hosts."
Why did you pick your venue?
"Due to our love story, Pensacola, specifically Palafox Street, is very special to us. It happened to be the street that we first met, had our first date on and got engagement on, without any intention. For that reason, we chose to get married on that same street. This lead us to choose our venue, Palafox Wharf. We also loved the history and the beautiful waterfront view our venue had to offer. "
How did the big day go?
"Our wedding was very fairytale like. I felt like a princess in my A-line wedding dress, arriving in a horse and carriage with a Cinderella top. I loved the elegance, uniqueness, and daintiness of my dress. The sparkles on top and a whimsical full bottom truly showed off my personality as being fun yet classy at the same time. My husband wore his sharp military whites and shiny gold medals and ribbons. It was an honor to have all the men in their Navy uniform and having the privilege of walking through a sword arch after being pronounced husband and wife. It definitely portrayed my husband as the Officer and gentleman that he is."
Advice for future couples?
"My advice to other engaged couples would be to enjoy this exciting new adventure that will soon be labeled as marriage with your partner. Try not get caught up in all the details of the wedding that won't really matter in the end. This is a time to celebrate your new union with all of your friends and family. To help make sure your day turns out perfect, I encourage future couples to have a day coordinate to oversee all the vendors. That will definitely help in keeping your stress level down the day of the wedding. "
